"This is where it all begins...on the floor with nothing except a notebook and a pen....."-
Crystal Senter Brown on the "Girlspeak" poetry workshops...

Liquid words…Yes these words I speak is out of the ordinary liquid words
Speaking through the precipitation through the rain, sleet, and flurs
Hurricanes and tornados in my vocabulary occurs
Twisted words in a twister liquid words I prefer
So when something is on my mind my words like an ocean
Above sea level or below depending on my emotions
My words are liquid words no potions
Needed for the mouths of the oceans that’s closing
My heart is needing liquid words because it’s frozen
Waiting for it to melt so it can open
Sometimes it’s constantly dry I reopen
Up to the mouth of the river to start soaking
Not enough strength to swim I start choking
Because the bridge of trust instantly collapsed no floating
Good deeds and dirty sins in water bottles I was toating
Drinking to quince my thirst causing problems never knowing
Started from a drop to a puddle I start growing
Transforming into a large body of water I start flowing
And I’m lost without a boat….No life jacket or no raincoat…
To cover me from these liquid words I wrote…Matter of fact I put myself under oath
I swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth
Sometimes my water turn from dirty brown to sky blue
And that’s just by God’s miracles
That makes me put it in liquid words because I’m just so lyrical…..I’m out

Everything I imagine comes to life
Everything I want comes to life
Everything loved came back to life
Everything I draw comes to life
Everything I write comes to life
Wait.
Let’s stop.
Am I imagining too much?
